Reliable International Warranty

Global Warranty and Special Support Contract

Our products (excluding some products) carry a Global Warranty of one (1) year or two (2) years.
No matter where in the world the product is used, we will repair the product free of charge within the warranty period for any defects that are proven not caused by abuse or misuse by the customer or incidental or accidental damages.
The contact point for repairs under the Global Warranty is the sales and service office where the product was purchased from. However, by separately purchasing a Special Support Contract at the time of purchasing the product or when moving the product to other country covered by our Global Warranty, the Global Warranty will be extended to two (2) years, and you can receive prompt, high-quality repair support at our local offices that cover more than 72 countries around the world.

Warranty Information for Cosmo Instruments’ Products

If the product fails during the warranty period while the product is being used under normal operating conditions according to the instructions in the operation manual and product warranty notes, we will repair the product free of charge at the sales and service office shown on the Global Warranty Sticker.

  • If the repair cannot be performed at the sales and service office above, we will repair at other sales and service office at our expense.

The warranty period is stated on a sticker attached to the product. You can check the warranty period on that sticker.

Scope of Warranty

If a failure occurs during the Global Warranty period due to our responsibility, we will repair or replace the product free of charge.
However, in the event of any of the following, it falls outside the scope of the Warranty.

  • When used under inappropriate conditions or environments, or when improperly handled, as identified in the operation manual.
  • When modified or repaired by anyone other than us.
  • The cause of the failure is due to reasons other than the delivered product.
  • When the product is used in a manner other than its intended use.
  • Due to reasons that could not be foreseen by the level of science and technology at the time of our shipment.
  • In case of natural disasters, calamities, or other causes for which we are not responsible.

Expenses not included in the Warranty

The customer is responsible for all transportation costs, including travel, shipping (round-trip), customs duties, customs clearance fees, and customs handling fees.

Global Warranty Sticker

Products covered by the Global Warranty will have a Global Warranty Sticker and a Warranty Period Sticker affixed to the top or front of the product.
The Global Warranty Sticker shows the name of the sales and service office that is your contact point for repairs.
If you purchase a Special Support Contract, we will affix the Global Warranty Sticker of the sales and service office in the destination country where the product is shipped to.
In the event that a manufacturing defect was found during the warranty period, the product will be repaired free of charge at the sales and service office shown on the Global Warranty Sticker.

    We will repair free of charge at the sales and service office shown on the Global Warranty Sticker.* In principle, the customer must send the product to the sales and service office shown on the Global Warranty Sticker.
    The customer will be responsible for the shipping cost.

    If the customer requests on-site repair (on-site service) at the customer’s premises, the travel and accommodation expenses will be
    borne by the customer.

Special Support Contract

By purchasing a separate Special Support Contract, if you are to use the product in a country outside the country of purchase, you can receive warranty repairs at the sales and service office in that destination country where the product is shipped to (limited to countries covered by the Global Warranty).

When exporting a previously purchased product to a country covered by the Global Warranty:

If you export a product that you are using in the country of purchase for relocation, you can separately purchase a Special Support Contract if the product is covered by the Global Warranty.

When separately purchasing a Special Support Contract later after purchasing the product (limited to the products applicable to the Special Support Contract):

  • When you purchase a Special Support Contract within 12 months from the warranty start date: The warranty period will be the remaining warranty days from the warranty start date.
  • When you purchase a Special Support Contract after 12 months but within 24 months from the warranty start date (for the products with a warranty period of two (2) years): Inspection and calibration (mandatory) will be carried out at the sales and service office.
    If it is confirmed that there are no functional problems and that the product is properly operating, the warranty period will be the remaining days in the 24-month warranty period from the warranty start date.

For Your Safety

This section provides how to use the product safely and avoid injuries to the operators or damage to your assets.
Handle the product according to these instructions and observe the following symbols.

Failure to take or avoid a specific action could result in death or serious physical harm to the user.

  1. When installing the product, securely fasten it to the mounting base using the included mounting brackets.
  2. If dust adheres to the metal part of the power plug or its surrounding area, wipe it well with a dry cloth. Failure to do so may cause a fire or electrical shock.
  3. Provide adequate space for easy insertion and removal of the power cable from the power inlet connector.
  4. Do not use the product with a voltage other than the indicated power supply voltage. Otherwise, a fire or electrical shock could result.
  5. If the product has been dropped or damaged, switch it off and disconnect the power cable from the power inlet of the product. Failure to do so may cause a fire or electrical shock.
  6. When supplying air to the product, do not apply excessive pressure beyond the specified pressure. Excessive pressure could cause product failure and/or injury.
  7. If foreign matter (water, oil, etc.) gets inside the product, immediately turn off the power switch of the product and unplug the power cable from the power input connector of the main unit. Failure to do so may cause a fire or electrical shock. Use extra caution when installing the product in an environment where water or oil exists nearby.
  8. This product is not customer-serviceable. Customer servicing could result in a fire or electrical shock.
  9. Before replacing the fuse, turn off the power switch of the product and unplug the power cable from the power input connector of the main unit. Use a fuse equivalent to the current one for replacement. Using a different fuse could result in a fire or electrical shock.
  10. Discontinue using the product immediately under the following circumstances:
    • The product smokes.
    • The product emits abnormal noises.
    • The product has developed problems not covered in the operation manual.
    • The product cannot be operated as described in the operation manual.
  11. To avoid electrical shock and/or injury, disconnect the power cable and remove the pressure source from the product. Neglecting it could result in a fire or electrical shock.

Failure to take or avoid a specific action could result in minor physical harm to the user, or in property damage.

  1. Do not use the product in a place that is damp, that is exposed to direct sunlight or at a temperature other than that specified for the product. Using the product in such an environment could result in malfunction or failure.
  2. Take the following precautions regarding the power cable. Otherwise, the power cable may be damaged, resulting in a fire or electrical shock.
    • Do not damage, modify or apply undue force to the power cable.
    • Before servicing the product, disconnect the power cable from the power inlet of the product.
    • Do not handle the power cable with wet hands.
    • When disconnecting the power cable, do not pull on the cable.
  3. Mount the product securely on a structure with enough load capacity. Do not install the product on an insecure foundation or in a place with vibration. Otherwise, it may fall or drop and cause injury.
  4. Ensure correct cable connection.
    Incorrectly connected cables could result in damage to the product and peripheral devices.
  5. Do not step on top of the product. Do not place a container filled with liquid, oil, soapy water, or the like on it. Spills may result, causing injury, electrical shock, rust or other damage.
  6. Should the LCD become damaged, avoid skin contact with the liquid contained inside. Failure to do so may cause inflammation. Wash with running water in case of skin contact.
  7. Do not disassemble the product other than replacing the designated consumable parts. The product could malfunction, resulting in injury or electrical shock.
  8. Do not mount or remove the parts exposed to air pressure such as pipes while a pressure source is connected to the product. It could result in injury.
    Wear a safety goggle to protect your eyes.
  9. When a leak test has been completed, unclamp the work only after all pressure has been released from the product.
    Residual pressure could result in injury.
  10. Hold its bottom to keep it from dropping when transferring the product. Do not lift the product by gripping its components on the rear panel such as the stop valves.
  11. Put on steel-toe boots when transferring the product for shipping, installation, dismantling. Otherwise, there is a risk of injury if the product is dropped.
  12. Wipe out the product lightly with a dry and soft cloth for maintenance. When the product is with heavy dirt, dilute the neutral detergent with water, soak the cloth in it, squeeze the cloth, and wipe the dirt out. Do not use organic solvent.
  13. Handle the product according to the instructions in the operation manual. Otherwise, the protection provided by the product may be impaired.
  14. Do not remove the cover of the main unit of the product.
    Otherwise, the product could be damaged due to electrical shock or short-circuit.
